Stephen Curry’s injury update during the tense period with Warriors

Stephen Curry sprained his ankle at the height of the Playoffs race, an injury that has Golden State Warriors fans extremely worried.

After a painful neck sprain in the match against the Chicago Bulls on March 8, Stephen Curry will have to take some time off to recover. However, the positive thing is that the “chef” will not be out for too long.

Two reputable journalists, Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski, both reported that Curry’s injury was not serious. An MRI scan showed that Stephen’s ankle was not damaged and only needed a few days of rest to recover.

The Golden State Warriors will first let their number 1 star sit out the match against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday morning (March 10). After that, Curry will be considered for a return in the 3 away games next week if he feels well.

The Warriors will travel to San Antonio (Tuesday, March 12), Dallas Mavericks (Thursday, March 14) and Los Angeles Lakers (Sunday, March 17) next week.

Journalist Shams quoted a source from the team saying that Curry’s ankle is much better after 1 day of rest, so there is a high possibility that he will return soon to avoid affecting Golden State’s Playoffs race.

Every game matters to the Golden State Warriors at this point. They are ninth in the Western Conference after losing to the Chicago Bulls on March 8, tied for the win rate with the 10th-place Los Angeles Lakers and 3.0 games out of the playoffs (top-7).

While the above information shows positivity about Stephen Curry’s ability to recover and return soon, the Golden State Warriors still need to be prepared if things don’t go according to plan.

“There is only one Stephen Curry in the basketball world and no one can replace him. So Steph’s absence will bring many difficulties, but it does not mean that we are here waiting for him to come back,” Draymond Green shared.

“The team will have some changes in personnel and tactics to get through this period. We still have Chris Paul, an experienced PG who is well-known for his leadership ability. The whole team will try to maintain their form until Curry recovers.”

Without Stephen Curry, coach Steve Kerr will increase the playing time of Chris Paul and rookie Brandin Podziemski at point guard. Paul will likely start to replace Curry.

In addition, Moses Moody and Klay Thompson can also play more to improve the offensive strength, the aspect most affected when the “chef” is out.
